The next meeting of the Council of Farmers were held at the Ministry of Agriculture

The next meeting of the Council of Farmers was held at the Ministry of Agriculture on October 22. Speaking at the meeting, Inam Karimov, Minister of Agriculture said that agricultural reforms under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev are ongoing, and informed members of the Council of Farmers about the recent work.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On the creation of a new subsidy mechanism in the agricultural sector”, the tasks arising from the Decree, and the rules for subsidizing agricultural production. Participants were informed about the mechanisms for implementing the Law “On Agricultural insurance” and opportunities for farmers.

Council members shared their views on various agricultural sectors, including state support measures for grain growing, cotton growing, intensive gardening and animal husbandry development.

Afras Askarov, Fatma Huseynova and Alibala Salimov, members of the Council of Farmers, talked about picking cotton. It was noted that due to state support and proper agricultural services this year, high yields in cotton production were achieved. Members of the Council of Farmers, Zafar Nasirov, Miragha Hasanov, Jale Amirbayeva, Sevil Osmanova, Mehman Ahmadov, Murad Rustamov, Khanim Babayeva and others were made proposals of activities of agrochemical laboratories, the need for cooperatives, the use of certified seeds for sowing, sale of high-quality services, proposals for expanding intensive gardens, sales production, training of professional personnel in the agricultural sector and land reclamation.

At the end of the meeting, new members of the Council of Farmers under the Ministry of Agriculture were admitted.

The Council of Farmers is made up of leading farmers in the country. Three quarters of the board is updated every 6 months.
