Minister Majnun Mammadov met with Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Israel, Avi Dikhter

A meeting was conducted at the Ministry of Agriculture with a delegation led by Minister of Agriculture and Rural development of Israel, Avi Dixter,  who is on a visit to Azerbaijan. Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov gave detailed information to the meeting participants on state support for the agri sector in Azerbaijan.

It was mentioned that cooperation between the two countries in all areas is developing dynamically. The parties stressed their interest in expanding cooperation in the agrarian sector.

Issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Israel in the agrarian sector, increasing trade turnover in the agricultural sector, transfer of the most modern technologies in the field of livestock and seed production, expansion of cooperation in the field of agricultural research and practice programs, and Israeli experience in irrigation were discussed at the meeting.  An extensive exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest during the meeting.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the State of Israel signed a “Declaration of intent on cooperation in the field of Agriculture”, as well as a “Road map for cooperation in the field of Agriculture for 2023-2025” at the end of the meeting. The declaration reflects the intention to develop cooperation in the mentioned areas. It is planned to create a joint working group in order to ensure the effective implementation of activities in this area.
