According to the Decree signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev in 2008, November 1 is annually celebrated as the Agricultural Workers’ Day in Azerbaijan. On the occasion of the Agricultural Workers’ Day, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov and employees of the ministry honored the memory of national leader Heydar Aliyev on the Alley of Honor and laid a wreath at the grave.
The famous ophthalmologist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also noted, and flowers were laid on her grave. Later, the Alley of Martyrs paid tribute to the heroic sons of the Motherland, who died for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and laid a wreath at the monument to the “Eternal Flame”. Then, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture, dedicated to November 1, the Agricultural Workers’ Day. Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov congratulated the participants on this significant day. The Minister said that Azerbaijan is one of the countries with great agricultural traditions: “Thanks to the political will and hard work of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, serious reforms were carried out in the agricultural sector, both effective and targeted, both in the post-Soviet period and during the reign independent Azerbaijan. ” and a solid foundation was laid for the sustainable development of the industry. As a result of a successful agricultural policy laid down by the national leader, agriculture has now taken a special place in the country’s economy. ” According to the Minister of Agriculture, the agricultural sector, like other sectors of the economy, has entered a qualitatively new stage of development. The development of strategically important and economically viable agricultural sectors has been identified as one of the priorities. The ongoing agricultural reforms provide for the further development of agriculture, and for this the government provides significant support. By 2020, agricultural subsidies will be provided under the new mechanism. The new subsidizing policy provides for increased government support for agriculture and stimulation of agricultural production with export potential. The state encourages farmers to provide cars, fertilizers and breed animals. The adopted decisions, decrees and orders create a real basis for the sustainable development of the country’s economy, including the agricultural sector. As a result of measures implemented over the 9 months of this year, gross agricultural output increased by 7.1 percent compared to the same period last year. Agricultural development has also had a significant impact on agricultural exports. The export potential of the agricultural sector increased, the role of agricultural products in the formation of foreign exchange earnings increased. “We have achieved these results thanks to the successful agricultural policy of the state and the special attention of farmers.” The Minister said that achievements and good results in the agricultural sector were highly appreciated by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Recalling that the head of state last year awarded honorary titles, orders and medals in the agricultural sector, Inam Karimov thanked President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of people working in the agricultural sector for great care and attention. Recep Orujov, Elman Gasimov and Maarif Huseynov, awarded the presidential decree, thanked the head of state for his contribution.
At the end of the event, participants in the meeting dedicated to the Agricultural Workers’ Day addressed the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. As a result of recent decrees and decrees signed by the President, as well as constant attention and care for the agricultural sector, all sectors of agriculture have developed dynamically, radical changes have been made and targeted measures to build the necessary capacity are being successfully implemented. The participants expressed deep gratitude to the President on behalf of the agricultural sector, farmers and entrepreneurs for their attention and care.
