A solemn meeting dedicated to November 1 - the day of agricultural workers was realized at the Ministry of Agriculture.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov congratulated farmers on their professional holiday. Minister Majnun Mammadov mentioned that as a result of the political will and hard work of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, serious reforms were carried out in the agrarian sphere, as well as in all spheres in our country both in the former Soviet times and in the period of independence, and a solid base was created for the sustainable development of agriculture. the agricultural sector maintains a dynamic pace of development. as a result of the successful agrarian policy founded by the National Leader and currently continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Minister Majnun Mammadov stressed that the professional holiday of agricultural workers celebrated this year coincides with three significant dates: “This year our people celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founder of modern Azerbaijan, great leader Heydar Aliyev. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev as the Head of state. At the same time, for the first time in the history of independence, we celebrate our professional holiday as citizens and farmers of a country whose sovereignty has been established.”

Speaking at the event, Head of the Agrarian and Ecology Department of the Cabinet of Ministers Latif Gasimov noted that during the leadership of the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state, Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan, serious successes were achieved in the agrarian sphere, as well as in all spheres, and positive development dynamics in agriculture continues. The production and export of agricultural products in the country is growing every year, agriculture is becoming a leading sector in the development of the non-oil sector.

Chairman of the committee on agrarian policy of the Milli Majlis, Tahir Rzayev spoke about the services of the Great Leader to the people and state of Azerbaijan. As a result of systematic measures carried out by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, agriculture has a special place in the country's economy. Noting that the intensive development of agriculture directly depends on the application of modern technologies, the chairman of the committee added that a new turning stage in the development of the agrarian sector has begun with comprehensive support measures in this direction by the state.

Later, a group of employees of the Ministry of Agriculture were awarded with an honorary diploma by The Trade Union of Agricultural Workers for distinction in service.

Speaking at the event, employees of the Ministry and farmers expressed their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev on behalf of people working in the agricultural sector for the high attention and care shown.
