An event related to supporting farmers was held

At the event on "Supporting farmers and public-private sector cooperation", issues of agricultural development, targets in this area, state support measures, cooperation of the private sector with farmers, production of competitive agricultural products, access to markets were discussed.

An event on “Supporting farmers and public-private sector cooperation” was realized in partnership with the small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) and Veyseloglu group of companies.

The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, 150 farmers, representatives of agricultural companies and financial institutions.

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) Orkhan Mammadov, founder of the Veysaloglu group of companies Aydin Talibov, Executive Director of the group of companies Burak Deniz informed about the development of Agriculture, targets in this area, state support measures and concessions, as well as private sector cooperation with farmers. The speeches also touched upon the issues of production of competitive agricultural products, important factors for this, access to markets, and the role of the private sector in this area.

In the presentation on the “From field to shelf” strategy of veyseloglu group of companies, it was mentioned that as a result of the initiative started with 52 farmers to bring products directly from the field to store shelves, the number of cooperated farmers exceeded 190. During January-November 2023, the group of Companies purchased about 50 thousand tons of agricultural products from farmers and sold them in the “Araz” and “OBA” market Networks.

The panel “Public-private sector cooperation” organized within the framework of the event touched upon such topics as stimulating the production of agricultural products, providing consumers with high-quality and affordable local products, increasing the sustainability of the supply chain by reducing dependence on imports, supporting the development of micro, small and medium-sized businesses, and listened to farmers' proposals.

At the same time, farmers shared their experience of cooperation with the private sector and said that as a result of the “cold chain” established by the group of companies, they did not need to come to Baku, spending time and money to sell their products, and sales were achieved by delivering their products to the company's regional warehouses.

At the event, 13 small farmers were presented with equipment and equipment for the production of agricultural products.
