A meeting with the delegation of the World Bank was held at the Ministry of Agriculture

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with a delegation led by World Bank Regional Director for Sustainable Development in Europe and Central Asia Sameh Naquib Vahba. Minister Majnun Mammadov mentioned that the development of agriculture issue was defined as a priority area by the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was as a consequence of this policy that the agrarian sector in our country entered a new stage of its development. The Minister informed the participants of the meeting about state support for the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan.

It was noted that after the liberation of our lands, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev declared the Karabakh region a green energy zone. At present, large-scale measures are being successfully taken to restore and reconstruct the liberated territories, ensure their further development in these territories, and create the necessary infrastructure. It was noted that the possibilities of application of best practices for the development of rural areas in these areas are being investigated.

It was emphasized that cooperation with international organizations continues in order to apply the best practices in the agrarian sector in our country. At the meeting, the importance of the projects implemented within the framework of joint cooperation with the World Bank was emphasized and the prospects for further cooperation were considered.

At the meeting, issues related to further increasing productivity in the agrarian sector, rational use of land and water resources, digitalization of agriculture, development of rural areas in the liberated territories were discussed.

At the end, there was an extensive exchange of views on issues of mutual interest.
