Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Azerbaijan Andrey Ravkov.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov gave detailed information to participants of the meeting on state support for the agraricultural sector in Azerbaijan. It was mentioned that cooperation between the two countries in all areas is developing dynamically. The parties stressed their interest in expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The issues of cooperation and strengthening the legal and contractual base between Azerbaijan and Belarus in the agrarian sector, increasing the trade turnover of agricultural and food products, the transfer of the most modern technologies in the agricultural sphere, the implementation of internship programs in the field of research and education in the agrarian sector were discussed at the meeting.

Minister Majnun Mammadov brought to the attention that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev declared our liberated territories a “Green energy zone” and these territories have great agrarian potential. At the meeting, it was noted that Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with friendly countries in the direction of restoration and development of agriculture in the liberated territories, and the possibility of using the experience of Belarus in this area.

The parties touched upon the significance of the annual exhibitions “Belagro” and “Caspian Agro” in Belarus and Azerbaijan, which create conditions for businessmen and farmers operating in the agricultural sector to get acquainted with new products and technologies, and emphasized that mutual active participation in international exhibitions will further strengthen cooperation between the business circles of the two countries.

During the meeting, the activities of the Azerbaijan-Belarus Working Group in the agricultural field and food security were discussed, and a wide exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest.
