Minister Majnun Mammadov met with Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov mentioned that close friendly relations between our countries allow to develop cooperation in the agricultural field as well as in all spheres. Informing the guests about state support for the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan, the Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan in the agricultural sector.

At the meeting, the pariies discussed the strengthening of the legal and contractual base between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the agrarian sector, increasing the trade turnover of agricultural and food products, the transfer of the most modern technologies in the agricultural sector, the implementation of internship programs in the fields of research and education in the agrarian sector, the exchange of experience. Noting that Uzbekistan has extensive experience in the field of cotton growing and sericulture, the Minister stressed that experts from both countries constantly exchange experience in these areas.

The parties also exchanged views on expanding cooperation between higher education institutions and scientific research institutes specializing in the agrarian sector.
