The Third Meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic states was held in Kazakhstan

Final declaration of the III meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the organization of Turkic states adopted

The third meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic states (OTS) was held in Kazakhstan. Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov attended the meeting.

The meeting chaired by the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov and the Secretary General of the OTS Kubanychbek Omuraliyev was attended by the ministers of Agriculture and Deputy Ministers of the countries that are members of the organization and invited as observers.

Opening the event, the Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Aidarbek Saparov emphasized the great potential for increasing trade turnover in the agricultural sector among the OTS countries.

Speaking at the event, Minister Majnun Mammadov mentioned that the economic, agrarian potential of the OTS countries, investment opportunities, implemented reforms and the existing transport and logistics infrastructure allow the expansion of cooperation. Noting that Azerbaijan has become one of the reliable transport and logistics centers of the Eurasian region, Majnun Mammadov gave detailed information about the contribution of important international transport projects implemented by our country to the development of mutual trade relations between OTS countries.

It was noted that the requirements of the OTS countries for agricultural products should be determined, and the demand for these products should be met mainly at the expense of the member countries of the organization. Minister Majnun Mammadov proposed to launch a pilot project on the joint production of agricultural and food products under the OTS brand and to explore the possibilities of applying the general agricultural insurance system within the organization.

Minister Majnun Mammadov brought to the attention that the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev declared our liberated territories a “Green energy” zone and these territories have great agrarian potential. At the meeting, it was noted that Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with friendly countries in the direction of restoration and development of Agriculture in the liberated territories.

At the ministerial meeting, it was noted that cooperation in the fields of digital transformation of agriculture, technology transfer in this area, sharing best practices is necessary in order to increase productivity and achieve sustainable development in the light of modern challenges.

Based on predetermined criteria, the city of Taraz in Kazakhstan has been declared the agricultural capital of the Organization of Turkic states since September 2024. An agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of the OTS Ministers of Agriculture in Kyrgyzstan.

At the end of the event, the final declaration of the III meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic states was adopted.

The third Agribusiness Forum of the Turkic states was held within the framework of the III meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the organization of Turkic states with the participation of representatives of the member states of the organization and observer countries' government agencies and companies specializing in the agrarian sector. Moreover, the participants of the meeting visited the exhibition organized within the framework of the international agricultural forum “KazAgroJambyl-2024”.

Minister Majnun Mammadov held bilateral meetings with the ministers of Agriculture of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. At the meetings, discussions were held on the future activities of bilateral cooperation between our countries in the agricultural field.
