Agrarian Business Festival held in Guba

Agrarian business festivals organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture in the regions continue. The next festival was organized in Guba district.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the festival, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov emphasized that the agrarian sector is one of the main strategic sectors of the country's economy. He said that in the context of globalization of the world economy, the stability of the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan and its integration into the world agricultural market, ensuring food security, raising the standard of living of the population can be realized, first of all, through the application of effective innovations. In our country, too, numerous experiments have already appeared on the introduction of innovations in the field of agriculture.

The Minister noted that agrarian business festivals regularly organized in the regions on the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture carry out information on agrarian innovations and current innovations in this area. These festivals allow to bring together farmers and supplier companies who are interested parties of agricultural activities, to establish bilateral relations. During the festivals, by bringing together the parties that play a role in the development of agribusiness, conditions are created for everyone to benefit more farmers-entrepreneurs from financial support and state benefits: "The festivals are aimed not only at demonstrating technological tools designed for the needs of farmers, where, in addition to providing access to various means of agricultural production, additional knowledge

Ilgar Mahmudov, head of the Guba District Executive Authority, said that in September 2023, the city of Guba was declared the capital of the ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic states. Noting that Guba is one of the largest agricultural regions of Azerbaijan, the head of the executive power stressed the importance of such measures to educate farmers and will contribute to the agrarian sector.

Director of the Agrarian Innovation Center Anar Jafarov noted that the opportunities for cooperation in agrarian business festivals held in the regions are wide, and direct contacts are established between producers and farmers.

Then Minister Majnun Mammadov and head of Guba district executive authority Ilgar Mahmudov visited the stands displayed at the festival.

Subordinate bodies of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of economy, companies engaged in production and sales in various directions of the agrarian sector were represented at the festival.

Farmers of Guba-Khachmaz economic region and surrounding regions participated in the festival organized by the agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and in partnership with the Entrepreneurship Development Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan, consumer goods Expertise Center and Confederation of entrepreneurs.

Hundreds of farmers got acquainted with the current innovations in agriculture at the festival held in Guba “ASAN service” center.

Various fertilizers and pesticides, machinery and aggregates, and new technologies were demonstrated by the companies participating in the festival in order to improve the supply of agricultural producers with necessary and modern agricultural machinery and to provide agricultural producers with mineral fertilizers required in agriculture in order to increase productivity.

At the festival, companies specializing in agriculture in determining the agrarian potential and prospects of the region and developing agricultural areas suitable for the region shared their successful experiences, as well as information on innovative technologies applied in their farms with farmers.

Within the framework of the Festival, women members of the Association for the development of women's entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan and the Association of Rural Women of Azerbaijan demonstrated and sold their products.

At the same time, insurance compensation was provided for damage caused as a result of flooding in the cabbage plantation belonging to Etibar Safarov, a farmer from Gican village of Gusar region.

Along with the demonstration and sale of agricultural products, trainings on the best advanced agricultural practices were held at the festival.

Also, within the framework of the agrarian Business Festival, the next credit Fair of the current year was organized. The Fair provided information on the provision of preferential loans to farmers with the participation of bank and non-bank credit organizations and other financial institutions participating in the festival. Farmers ' questions about loans were answered by experts.

It should be noted that the main purpose of these festivals, which are regularly organized by the agrarian Innovation Center in the regions, is to develop the agrarian sector on an innovative basis, to carry out support services on the promotion of technological innovations and to ensure the accessibility of agricultural product producers to innovations.

It should be noted that last year festivals were held in 14 districts in order to develop the agrarian sector on an innovative basis, promote and promote agrarian innovations, and about 12,000 farmers participated in these festivals. This year, Agricultural Business festivals are planned to be held in 30 districts and seed exhibition sales fairs in 10 districts.
