Minister Majnun Mammadov visited farms in Guba, Gusar and Khachmaz and met with farmers

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov visited farms in Guba, Gusar and Khachmaz districts, met with farmers and was interested in the activities of research institutes.

The Minister was informed about the work done by the Research Institute of Fruit and Tea Growing located in Zardabi settlement of Guba district. It was noted that the institute has an agroecology laboratory, which conducts soil and water analysis equipped with modern equipment, and a laboratory for increasing plants by microclonal reproduction. A special greenhouse-nursery complex has been created at the Institute for growing and adapting new varieties of fruit plants. The Minister was interested in the process of collecting, storing and using plant gene pool in selection, creating more productive new fruit varieties, developing new plant cultivation technology and providing scientific and technical support to farmers, and gave his instructions and recommendations to the staff.

Minister Majnun Mammadov visited “Zafars Nursery” nursery located in Ashaghi Atuc village of Guba, breeding livestock farm established with the support of Agrarian Credit and Development Agency in Charkhi village of Khachmaz district, got acquainted with the organization of breeding-breeding works, keeping conditions of animals and feed supply process.

Then Minister Majnun Mammadov was interested in the process of construction of egg production enterprise with daily production capacity of 100,000 units located in Niyazoba village, visited modern hazelnut processing plant operating in Khudat settlement, got acquainted with new hazelnut garden project built by private sector in Magsudkent village, visited modern superintensive fruit gardens built in Gusarchay village, cold strage facilities owned by “Man Agro”.

The Minister also visited the livestock farm of "Azeragrar state production and processing Union" LLC located in Gusar region, the sown areas of "Azerbaijan-Turkey Joint seed-growing enterprise, Khachmaz seed processing plant, variety testing station of the Agrarian Services Agency, Khachmaz Support Station of the Scientific Research Institute of Plant Protection and Technical Plants, was interested in the organization of the work process, gave instructions and recommendations.
