Presentation of interactive electronical land maps was held at the Agricultural Economics Research Center

The Agricultural Research Center presented the “Map of interactive electronical land and environmental ecological assessment of land based on GIS”.

On December 10, the presentation was implemented by the Advisor to the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS), the head of the Department of Ecology and Land Science of Baku State University, academician Garib Mammadov and team led by professionals. Firdovsi Fikratzade, director of Agricultural Economics Research Center and staff of the center conducting research in this area attended in this event.

It was noted that the purpose of mapping was to provide interactive information on the distribution of soil types in various regions of Azerbaijan, including the main land indicators. During the event, the parties exchanged views on the use of land under a favorable agricultural structure, depending on the soil and climatic conditions for the efficient use of the country’s land resources. At the same time, the studies of the Agricultural Economics Research Center on the optimal location of agricultural plants were presented and the approaches considered. They also discussed the use of interactive land maps to optimize planting patterns. Experts said that it would be advisable to continue the efforts of research institutions working in this area in terms of improving soil quality, maintaining the ecological balance and taking comprehensive measures in the field of health to achieve high productivity. Joint researchs in this area were conducted to an agreement in the meeting.
