Minister Majnun Mammadov met with Minister of Agriculture of Belarus Sergey Bartosh

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with a delegation led by Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Bartosh, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov spoke about the reforms carried out in the agrarian sector in our country, gave information about the main directions of the agrarian development strategy in Azerbaijan, implemented innovative projects.

Minister Majnun Mammadov expressed his satisfaction with the National Pavilion of Belarus and the participation of 40 companies of this country at “Caspian Agro”, the largest international agricultural exhibition in the Caucasus region. During the meeting, it was emphasized that these exhibitions create conditions for businessmen and farmers operating in the agricultural sector to get acquainted with new products and technologies, and mutual active participation in international exhibitions will further strengthen cooperation between the business circles of the two countries.

The parties discussed the issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Belarus in the agrarian sector, increasing the trade turnover of agricultural and food products, the transfer of the most modern technologies in the agricultural sector, the implementation of internship programs in the fields of research and education in the agrarian sector.

At the meeting, it was noted that Azerbaijan is ready to cooperate with friendly countries in the direction of restoration and development of agriculture in the liberated territories, and the possibility of using the experience of Belarus in this area.

Minister of Agriculture and food of Belarus Sergey Bartosh, in turn, stressed that his country attaches importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of Agriculture. The guest said that he would spare no efforts for the further development of relations in the agrarian sector. It was noted that cooperation between the two countries in all areas is developing dynamically. The sides stressed their interest in further expansion of cooperation in the agrarian sector.

During the meeting, the activities of the Azerbaijan-Belarus Working Group in the field of Agriculture and food security were discussed, and a wide exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest.
