Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov visited intensive orchards, nurseries, livestock farms, onion and cotton plantations in Yevlakh and met with farmers.
The Minister first got acquainted with the cotton plantation of farmer Abbasgulu Guliyev in Nematabad village of the district. Noting that cotton growing is a profitable industry, the farmer brought to attention that cotton cultivation was carried out on an area of 11 hectares. At the meeting held under the open sky, the steps taken towards the development of cotton growing and measures of state support were discussed. It was noted that measures of state support for the development of cotton growing have a positive impact on the growth of interest in this area, the growth of farmers' incomes and the level of employment of the rural population.
At the meetings, the sides exchanged views on agrotechnical care measures, the positive impact of new planting methods on productivity, the correct selection of seeds, irrigation issues, the possibility of using modern irrigation systems, the quality of drugs used in the fight against diseases and pests, plant protection measures and other topics.
Later, the delegation visited the livestock farm belonging to farmer Abbasgulu Guliyev, where 400 small cattle were kept, and was interested in the conditions of keeping and feeding animals, the quality of veterinary services provided.
Minister Majnun Mammadov visited the intensive fruit and nursery farm located in Aran settlement and discussed with farmers the expansion of intensive gardens and the development of the nursery.
The delegation visited the onion field planted intensively and exchanged views with farmers on productivity. Producers of agricultural products said that as a result of sowing productive seeds and proper observance of agrotechnical rules, a rich harvest has grown in the fields. Farmers said that there are no difficulties with the transportation and export of products, and this year they will receive more income from the export of onions.
Later, a buffalo farm was inspected in the village of Goyunbinesi, and talks were held with the farmer about the development of this area.
At the meetings, the proposals voiced by farmers were recorded, instructions were given for the implementation of the appeals, agricultural producers expressed their gratitude to the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev for the support provided by the state to farmers in increasing crop production.
