Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov visited the beekeeping farm, grain fields, intensive gardens in Kurdamir and met with farmers.
Minister Majnun Mammadov first got acquainted with the activities of the beekeeping farm of farmer Samir Heydarov in Karrar village of the district, was interested in the issues of productivity indicators, product packaging, Organization of sales. The farmer, who has been engaged in beekeeping for a long time, said that now 310 bee families are kept in the farm, the average yield is 15-30 kilograms. Caring for bees on the farm is carried out purely in accordance with the requirements of organic production. Noting that he did not face difficulties in the production and sale of beekeeping products, the farmer emphasized that he would pay special attention to the packaging of products in the future.
Then, Farmer Elshan Hajiyev, who is engaged in seed-growing in Muradkhan village of the district, inspected the grain field planted on an area of 125 hectares, exchanged views with the farmer on the agrotechnical measures carried out in the field of sowing, the correct selection of seed variety. It was noted that the application of innovations and modern technologies in the field of cultivation and production of seeds of cereal crops, especially winter wheat and winter barley with high varietal and sowing qualities, is of great importance for increasing productivity.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the activities of the breeding livestock farm in the village of Sorsor of the region. 1800 sheep of the local garadolag sheep breed are kept in the farm. Garadolag sheep differ from other local breeds in height, weight and meat yield, which is why there is a great interest among farmers in keeping and increasing this breed. Farmers pay special attention to preserving and increasing the breeding characteristics of Garadolag sheep obtained by folk selection.
Then an intensive orchard built in Muradkhan village was inspected. Farmer Natig Gadirov, who has been fruit growing for about 30 years, said that the area of the fruit garden has now been increased to 70 hectares. The garden's products are exported to foreign markets, part of which is exported to the domestic market.
The minister got acquainted with the process of harvesting fruits in the garden, inspected the territory where medicines and fertilizers are stored, water reservoir, techniques, and gave recommendations.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation visited 200 hectares of intensive pomegranate garden of farmer Khayal Rasulov in Khirhapay village of the region, exchanged views on proper agrotechnical care of gardens, expansion of intensive gardens, installation of modern irrigation systems in perennial plantings, and noted that farmers widely use the state support mechanisms for this process.
