Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel.
Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov said that close friendly relations between our countries allow to develop cooperation in the field of agriculture as well as in all spheres. Informing the guest about state support for the agrarian sector in Azerbaijan, the Minister said that our country is interested in expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan in the agrarian sector.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the strengthening of the legal and contractual base between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in the agrarian sector, increasing the trade turnover of agricultural and food products, the transfer of the most modern technologies in the agricultural sector, the implementation of internship programs in the fields of research and education in the agrarian sector and other issues.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the heads of states of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan repeatedly noted the importance of expanding cooperation between the member countries of the Organization of Turkic states (OTS) in all areas, and it was noted that increasing trade turnover using favorable geographical location and transport infrastructure is one of the priorities. The parties expressed their interest in organizing joint agribusiness forums to strengthen relations between entrepreneurs of both countries.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, in turn, emphasized that his country attaches importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of agriculture. The guest said that there is great potential for expanding mutual relations in the agricultural field and will spare no efforts to develop cooperation in this area.
The parties also exchanged views on expanding cooperation between higher education institutions and scientific research institutes specializing in the agrarian sector.
