Issues of cooperation in the field of agriculture were discussed between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan

A meeting dedicated to cooperation in the field of agriculture was held between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Elchin Zeynalov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Akmaljon Kasimov, representatives of the relevant structures of the two countries.

Deputy Minister Elchin Zeynalov said that the close friendly relations between our countries allow to develop cooperation in the agricultural field. Calling the agrarian sphere one of the most promising areas of cooperation between the two countries, the Deputy Minister noted that Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan in the agrarian sector.

During the meeting, issues such as increasing the trade turnover of agricultural and food products between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, transfer of the most modern technologies in the agricultural field, implementation of internship programs in the fields of research and education in the agrarian sector, digitalization of agriculture, exchange of experience on the application of the agrarian insurance mechanism and other issues were discussed.

It was noted that Azerbaijan supports all initiatives to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with Uzbekistan. Recalling that there is a reliable and favorable business environment in our country, Deputy Minister Elchin Zeynalov called on Uzbek entrepreneurs to evaluate investment opportunities in Azerbaijan.

The parties also exchanged views on expanding cooperation between higher education institutions and scientific research institutes specializing in the agrarian sector.
