Minister Majnun Mammadov met with representatives of Association of Rural Women

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with representatives of the Association of Rural Women. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilhama Gadimova, Deputy Chairman of the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency Leyla Jabbarli and employees of the Ministry attended the meeting. Speaking at the event, Gulbaniz Ganbarova, Chairman of the Association of Rural Women of Azerbaijan, announced the strategic goals of the Association.

The chairman of the Association initiated the creation of a Republican platform for women farmers to support the integration of women farmers into the business environment and accelerate their social and economic development. Gulbaniz Ganbarova added that the platform to be created in order to increase the contribution of rural women to the economic development of the regions and make it sustainable is a reliable tool for the development of collective women's agro-businesses. Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov positively assessed the proposal to create a Republican platform for women farmers and made proposals for the creation of this platform.

Minister Majnun Mammadov stressed that the Ministry of Agriculture supports the activities of women farmers in the direction of the development of the agrarian sector, increasing employment in rural areas, as well as the proposal to create a Republican Platform for Women Farmers. Representatives of the Association, Elmira Hajiyeva, Chairman of the “Banovsha” women's Cooperative operating in Zagatala and Saadat Dibirova, Chairman of the “Chinar” women's Cooperative, spoke about the activities of women farmers and gave information about the projects and measures implemented in this direction.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the activities of women entrepreneurs in the country, support measures in this direction, a favorable business environment and the contribution of women to the development of the agrarian sector, and the opinions and suggestions of women farmers were registered.
