The delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov, who is on a visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, got acquainted with the activities of agrarian educational institutions, agricultural companies and leading farms of this country.
First, the Azerbaijani delegation got acquainted with the material and technical base of the AERES Agricultural School, a vocational-specialized educational institution specializing in various areas of Agriculture in the Netherlands. The school has about 100 courses and training programs for bachelors and masters, vocational education. This educational institution trains highly qualified personnel in the agrarian sector, which has become one of the priority areas of the country's economy. Participants of the course and training program here acquire the necessary professional skills, knowledge and skills in the field of plant growing, fruit growing and animal husbandry. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the organization of Agrarian education and the possibilities of cooperation between AERES and educational institutions of Azerbaijan.
Later, the Azerbaijani delegation visited the Dutch Poultry Center, watched the process of sorting poultry meat and eggs, discussed the development directions of poultry farming in the country and the possibilities of cooperation in this area with local experts.
The delegation also visited the University of Vageningen, which trains highly qualified agricultural specialists, has a special rating for the training of personnel in the field of Agriculture in the world, and was interested in the process of organizing training at a higher educational institution. Noting that special attention was paid to the principles of healthy food and the environment, the university administration informed the guests about the teaching methodology, scientific research, and made presentations on greenhouse gardening, plant growing and seed growing technologies for the participants of the visit at the higher educational institution. During the meeting, discussions were held on increasing the number of Azerbaijani students studying at the University of Vageningen, student-teacher exchange, and an agreement was reached on expanding joint cooperation in this area.
Visiting the World Horticultural Center (World Horti Center), which specializes in modern greenhouse gardening, the participants got acquainted with innovations applied in this area, innovative lighting technology applied in the greenhouse system. A presentation on the provision of greenhouses with electricity by “Signify” company was held for the Azerbaijani delegation.
The Azerbaijani delegation also visited the advisory bureau specializing in horticulture (Looije Agro Technics) and exchanged views on the modernization of greenhouse complexes existing in Azerbaijan. Experts from the Netherlands expressed their readiness to help their partners in Azerbaijan with the construction and management of modern greenhouses.
Within the framework of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation also visited floriculture and seed farms and got acquainted with modern cultivation technologies applied here.
