Minister Majnun Mammadov met with members of the Board of the Association of Beekeepers of Azerbaijan

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with members of the Board of the Association of Beekeepers of Azerbaijan. The parties exchanged ideas on the current situation in the field of beekeeping and the development of this area.

Minister Majnun Mammadov said that the development of beekeeping in our country has a significant impact on the growth of incomes and employment of the rural population. For this reason, appropriate steps were taken by the state to subsidize beekeeping, and in 2018-2023, beekeeper farmers were paid subsidies for each bee family. Thanks to state support, there has been a significant increase in the number of bee colonies and individuals engaged in beekeeping in our country. At the same time, by the decision of the Board of the Ministry of Agriculture, the equipment and techniques used in beekeeping were included in the “list of techniques to be used in the agricultural sector”. Noting that exhibitions and sales fairs of beekeeping products have been organized in our country for many years with the joint support of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Association of beekeepers of Azerbaijan, the minister stressed that this event plays an important role in the formation of beekeepers ' income, as well as in meeting the needs of the population for beekeeping products. Recalling that the first beekeeping farms were transferred to kalbajar and Lachin pastures 4 years ago as part of the organization of agricultural activities in the liberated territories, the minister said that there were already opportunities to transfer farms to other summer pastures in the liberated territories.

Chairman of the Board of the Association of beekeepers of Azerbaijan Badraddin Hasratov said that the public organization headed by him closely cooperates with the Ministry of Agriculture and said that this cooperation played a special role in the achievements of beekeeping in recent years. Noting that more than 50 thousand beekeepers from 20 districts of Azerbaijan are represented in the association, Badraddin Hasratov stressed that their main mission is to support the further development of beekeeping in the country. The chairman of the association informed about the work done in this direction and reminded that numerous trainings and conferences were held in different regions of the Republic with the participation of influential beekeepers invited from foreign countries.

The sides exchanged views on the training of qualified personnel in the field of beekeeping, expansion of state support mechanisms for the development of this field, effective use of the existing potential of summer pastures in the liberated territories for the development of beekeeping, support of the activities of breeding farms, more efficient organization of exhibition-sale fairs and other topical issues.

The proposals voiced at the meeting were recorded, instructions were given to the relevant structural units and departments for the evaluation and implementation of the proposals.
