Cooperation opportunities between the Ministry of Agriculture and Baku State University were discussed

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with rector of Baku State University (BSU) Elchin Babayev. Cooperation opportunities between the Ministry of Agriculture and Baku State University were discussed at the meeting.

Opening the event, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov informed the guests about the main directions of the agrarian development strategy in our country, state support for the agrarian sector, the activities of the Ministry, and implemented innovative projects. It was noted that, as in all sectors of the economy in our country, special importance is attached to the development of the agrarian sector and the application of high technologies in this area.

Noting that the intensive development of agriculture directly depends on professional Personnel, Minister Majnun Mammadov added that in Azerbaijan there is an increasing need for professional personnel and specialists who have the ability to effectively use modern techniques and technologies that allow increasing productivity in the agrarian sector. Citing this, Minister Majnun Mammadov touched upon the importance of cooperation with Baku State University, which trains highly qualified specialists and is distinguished by its special place and weight in the higher education space.

In his turn, rector Elchin Babayev gave detailed information to the meeting participants about the material and technical base of the higher education institution, training of specialists for the labor market, increasing their professional level, and scientific research conducted at the University. It was noted that the training of highly qualified pedagogical, engineering-technical and scientific specialists trained in the spirit of patriotism, who have acquired fundamental knowledge, innovative research skills in the field of multi-profile continuing education and scientific research in accordance with world standards is one of the main goals.

At the meeting, the issues of strengthening human resources, cooperation in the field of scientific research and production between the Ministry of Agriculture and Baku State University were discussed in detail. The sides emphasized their confidence that cooperation in the field of education and research will make a significant contribution to the development of the agrarian sector.
