Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with the delegation of the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation

Majnun Mammadov, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with the delegation led by the head of the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation (ITFC), Hani Salem Sonbol, who is on a visit to our country. Prospects of cooperation in the field of agriculture between Azerbaijan and the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation were discussed at the meeting.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov touched on the importance of holding the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan, emphasized that our country enthusiastically joins the initiatives arising from global challenges, and attaches importance to effective cooperation with international partners, moreover he mentioned rhe interest of Azerbaijan in cooperation with International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation, which operates as part of the Islam Development Bank.

The head of the International Islamic Trade and Finance Corporation, Hani Salem Sonbol, informed about the activities of the organization he leads, and informed about the works done in different countries, including the financed projects related to agriculture. He said that the financial institution he represents is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in many directions, including in the field of agriculture. Hani Sani Sonbol said that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change also served as a platform for discussing new cooperation opportunities with partners.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on issues of mutual interest.
