Minister Majnun Mammadov got acquainted with the activities of the Scientific Research Institutes of Viticulture and Winemaking, Veterinary

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov visited the Research Institutes of Viticulture and Winemaking, was interested in the activities of the Institute and met with employees.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the structure of the institute, its activities, implemented scientific research programs, personnel potential, existing economic areas, experimental stations, seedling production, reproduction of high-yielding grape planting materials, the state of scientific research, improvement of the material and technical base of the institutes, the activities of laboratories, and the application of research results in practice were discussed.

At present, the exchange of views was held on viticulture and winemaking being a priority area in the economy of Azerbaijan, organization of viticulture, promotion of manufactured products to the consumer market, application of new techniques and modern technology to improve the quality of exported competitive grape and wine products.

Minister Majnun Mammadov got acquainted with micro-wine-making, grafting Center, wine cellar, seedling planting materials, “Garabagh corner”, accredited laboratory of physical-chemical analyzes and genetics with full equipment, their working principle and applied new methods and gave his recommendations. It was noted that the research carried out at the Institute, subject options should correspond to the trends existing in the world in the agrarian sphere, the institute should build its scientific activities in accordance with the requirements of the day, and cooperation between scientific institutions and the private sector should be expanded.

Minister Majnun Mammadov got acquainted with the projects implemented in the direction of reproduction of rare and local grape varieties of Karabakh, research of molecular genetic purity of varieties and determination of indicators on OIV descriptors. During the meeting, the proposals of the employees were heard, recommendations were made and the next steps were determined.

Later, Minister Majnun Mammadov got acquainted with the activities of the office building, departments, laboratories and veterinary clinic of the Veterinary Scientific Research Institute (BETI) and watched the process of production of Veterinary preparations and Diagnostics developed by the employees of the Institute in the biosafety Laboratory of the 2nd level operating under BETI. During the meeting, the minister was interested in the scientific activity of the institute, the implemented topics, and met with employees.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the scientific research directions of the institute, the state of the implementation of scientific research works, the improvement of the material and technical base of the institute, the activities of laboratories and departments, and the issues of application of research results in private individual livestock farms were discussed. Speaking at the event, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov noted that agriculture, which is one of the leading sectors of the economy, has entered a new stage of development as a result of the high attention of the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev to the non-oil sector in our country in recent years. In modern times, the development of the agrarian sector on a scientific basis and the application of scientific and technological progress to the agrarian sector are considered one of the most important priorities. Effective use of scientific potential and modern approaches accelerates the process of achieving effective results and the creation of scientifically based innovative farms in the country.

Then the minister listened to the appeals of the employees and gave relevant instructions for a comprehensive study of the issues raised and their solution in a short time in accordance with the requirements of the legislation. Some of the employees ' appeals were resolved on the spot, and some of the issues raised were registered for investigation and taken into custody.

It was noted that the scientific research work carried out at the institute, the topics should correspond to the diseases that concern animal husbandry in our republic, the institute should establish its scientific activities in accordance with the requirements of the day, cooperation between scientific institutions and the private sector should be expanded.
