A stand of Agricultural Research Center was organized at report exhibition of Azerbaijan National Academy OF Sciences (ANSA)

On January 18, a meeting of the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was realized, dedicated to the annual report of the Department of Biology and Medical Sciences (DBMS) of ANAS and the Lankaran Regional Scientific Center (LREM) for 2024.

The event was attended by the President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli, members of the Presidium, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Vugar Karimov, Head of the Department of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education under the Ministry of Science and Education Mubariz Hajibeyov, as well as representatives of relevant scientific institutions, higher education institutions operating under the Ministries of Health, Agriculture, other state bodies, and relevant persons.

The President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli, opened the event and provided information about the agenda of the meeting. First, the dear memory of the victims of the tragedy was commemorated with a minute of silence in connection with the 35th anniversary of the January 20 tragedy.

Later, at the meeting, the Vice-President of ANAS, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Department of Biology and Medical Sciences, Academician Irada Huseynova presented a report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the department for 2024. It was revealed that in the reporting year, 1242 scientific works were published by the agrarian research and educational institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture, including 17 books (3 abroad), 4 monographs, 697 articles (182 abroad, 117 of which are in the “Web of Science” and “Scopus” databases), 524 theses (212 abroad), and 513 references were made to the works of employees.

It should be noted that before the meeting, an exhibition was held reflecting the important scientific results achieved in 2024 at the institutes covered by the Department of Biology and Medical Sciences of ANAS, the Lankaran Regional Scientific Center, as well as higher education and medical institutions. The Agricultural Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture also participated in the exhibition. The Center's stand displayed materials on the work done in 2024, including the book "Role of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Development of the Agraricultural Sector in Azerbaijan" prepared at the Center, and a special issue of the "Agricultural Economics" magazine prepared within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Baku.
