The work was successfully continued in 5 areas-creation of databases, scientific research, diagnostics and analysis, monitoring and evaluation, and doctoral education in accordance with the Action Plan of the Agricultural Research Center, in 2024.
Totally, 31 events of 27 were fully or partially implemented at the Center according to the Action Plan for 2024.
The implementation of 103 tasks on the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) has been provided.
In 2024, The Agricultural Research Center continued monitoring and evaluation work on the results of agrarian policy based on the methods used in international practice. Reports were prepared on the implementation of the adopted state programs related to agriculture, as well as on the work done in connection with the National Action Plan and other strategic policy documents. In general, 1130 reports, references, information, reviews reflecting relevant indicators on various sub-sectors of agriculture (arable land, production volume, productivity, import-export, as well as world production and trade indicators) were prepared, inquiries were answered, opinions and suggestions were given to various documents. In particula, 106 references and opinion-proposals on works not envisaged, 22 research works on the Action Plan were prepared at the beginning of the year.
The work on the creation and improvement of databases, which is one of the main activities of the Agricultural Research Center, continued in 2024.
In accordance with the Center's Action Plan, surveys were conducted within the framework of the system for Farm Data Monitoring System, surveys within the farmers' access to the product market and accessibility to production resources, surveys among farmers, processors, traders and exporters within the framework of diagnostic analyzes on the value chain. In total, last year, the survey group of the Center conducted surveys among 12495 respondents engaged in agricultural activities.
In 2024, 1 person was admitted to the doctoral program on the doctor of philosophy program, 2 people to the dissertation program, and 3 people to the doctoral program on the doctor of sciences program. In general, in 2024, 13 people in doctoral studies on the doctor of philosophy program, 9 people in dissertations, 14 people in doctoral studies on the doctor of sciences program have been trained at the center and each of them performs research work on the approved topic.
Within the framework of the work carried out on the organization of scientific activities in 2024, 40 articles and theses were published by the employees of the Center, doctoral students and dissertators, 22 Foreign, including 9 in journals based on “Scopus” database.
Also during the year, 60 dissertations were given scientific opinions by the employees of the Center, 4 dissertations were discussed.
In 2024, an employee of the center defended his dissertation and was awarded the degree of doctor of philosophy in economics.
In the reporting year, 2 issues of the scientific-practical “Agricultural Economics" journal of the Agricultural Research Center were published. In total, 5 foreign authors, 4 employees of the Center, 5 doctoral students and dissertators of the Center, 26 articles of 19 authors were published in these issues.
A special edition of the “Agricultural Economics" journal has been prepared within the framework of the 29th Session of the Conference of parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku. Also, on the first day of COP29, a stand of the Agricultural Research Center was organized in the pavilion of the Ministry of Agriculture in the “Green Zone”.
Materials reflecting the activities of the Center were exhibited at the stand and various presentations were made. In total, the leadership of the Center participated in 29 events related to COP24, participated in panel discussions and made speeches.
In 2024, a monthly information bulletin of “Agriculture” was prepared and presented to the public, reflecting the indicators of production, export and state support in the field of agriculture of the Center, a monthly “Brief overview of the world market conjuncture on agriculture and food products”.
515 posts (in Azerbaijani and English) were published on the website of the center on the activities of the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as the Agricultural Research Center, and 1172 posts (in Azerbaijani and English) were made on the “Facebook” page on the activities of the Ministry of Agriculture and the ARC.
Within the framework of organizational measures and strengthening the institutional capacity of the Agricultural Research Center, 17 employees of the Center participated in 17 international and local trainings, seminars and conferences during the year, as well as internships in foreign countries within the framework of various training and educational programs.
