The Republican Meeting of State Agricultural Development Centers

On February 28, the Republican Meeting under the State Agricultural Development Centers (SADC) under the Ministry of Agriculture was held in Ujar. Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov, Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture’ apparatus, heads of structural divisions, heads of the State Agricultural Development Centers of 60 districts attended in the meeting held at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

Opening the meeting within the introductory speech, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov said that the president of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev has set important tasks in ensuring food security in the country, making it more efficient by using land and water resources for this purpose, achieving high productivity: “In order to ensure the continuity of development in, based on the principles of proper management and application of innovations. Significant reforms have been carried out in the agricultural sector over the past two years. One direction of these reforms was connected with the activities of the State Agricultural Development Centers. Thus, as a result of the institutional reforms carried out, State Agricultural Development Centers were established on the basis of agricultural departments, and the new structure began to function as a service structure. They are already playing the role of a center where necessary services are provided to people working in the agricultural sector. Ready-made centers established their activity on the principle of proximity to farmers and provide more than 70 services".

The Minister noted that SADC should pay special attention to the activities aimed at speeding up work with farmers in the districts, carrying out works related to state programs in a coordinated manner, improving the services provided to farmers: “A number of steps have been taken in these fields, serious work implemented to resolve the forthcoming issues. Since agriculture is an field that is constantly developing dynamically, we must ensure the implementation of all the tasks set before us to achieve our goals and work hard to implement the tasks set before us by the president of the country Mr. Ilham Aliyev".

Then, the chairman of the Agricultural Services Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture Seymur Movlayev held trainings on ”Organization and quality control of Agricultural Services“, the chairman of the Agency for Agro Credit and Development under the Ministry of Agriculture Mirza Aliyev on ”Application of new subsidy rules and current situation in this field“, the director of the Agrarian Science and Innovation Center Imran Jumshudov on “Training on increasing productivity and quality indicators in the agricultural sector and application of innovative technologies”, director of e-agriculture application department of the Ministry of Agriculture Asif Ismayilov on “application of e-services” made a report in the meeting.

In his speech, the head of Bilasuvar SADC Nuraddin Guliyev touched upon the activities of agricultural activities and centers in this direction.

At the meeting, discussions were held on grain-growing, cotton-growing, rice-growing, silkworm breeding, tobacco-growing and sugar beet production, provision of machinery and fertilizer, application of the E-agricultural Information System, implemented work on the new subsidy rules, proposals were registered, tasks were given to the heads of relevant bodies and structural units for the solution of the raised issues.

The participants of the meeting exchanged views on the implementation of state programs on agricultural sphere, the implementation work to coordinate the activities of subordinate bodies included in the structure of the Ministry in the regions in a unified manner by SADC and other issues.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, Minister Inam Karimov touched upon the main tasks of the SADC. Noting that the main task of local agencies is always to provide high-level services to farmers, the Minister said it is important to strengthen activities for the training of qualified and professional workforce.

Recalling that this year was declared Volunteers’ Year by the president of the country, Inam Karimov urged SADC to work actively with Agricultural Development Volunteers and provide them with sustainable support.

The Minister gave relevant instructions for the operative solution of the issues raised at the Republican Meeting of SADC.
