Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the Ambassador of Moldova to Azerbaijan

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova to Azerbaijan Alexander Esaulenko.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov provided detailed information to the meeting participants on state support for the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan. It was noted that cooperation between the two countries is developing dynamically in all areas. The parties emphasized their interest in expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The meeting discussed issues related to strengthening cooperation and the legal and contractual basis in the agricultural sector between the two countries, increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products, transferring the most modern technologies in the agricultural sector, implementing experimental programs in the fields of scientific research and education in the agricultural sector, the activities of the Azerbaijan-Moldova joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, the sixth meeting of the commission to be held in Baku on April 11 of this year, and organizing a business forum. At the same time, the parties exchanged views on the opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in agriculture, energy, transport, education, tourism and other areas, agreements signed and under negotiation in these areas, and future directions of cooperation.

It was noted that many documents have been signed between Azerbaijan and Moldova in various directions, including in the economic sphere. It was noted that there are great opportunities for further expansion of trade and investment cooperation. In this regard, it was noted that holding regular business forums and exhibitions with the participation of businessmen is of particular importance. Recalling that our country has a reliable and favorable business environment and great transit potential, Minister Majnun Mammadov noted that Moldovan entrepreneurs can evaluate the investment opportunities of Azerbaijan and make more extensive use of the transport and transit potential of our country.

During the meeting, a wide exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest.
