Rashad Huseynov, Director of the Agricultural Research Center, participated in the “CGIAR Science Week” event held in Nairobi, Kenya, on April 7-12. The Science Week, which was attended by more than 10,000 participants, both in person and online, including farmers, experts, scientists, researchers, politicians, partners, and financiers from dozens of countries around the world, aims to strengthen global food security through technologies and innovations that increase agricultural productivity while protecting the environment, and to support those working in this field.
Among the main goals of this event, the exchange of advanced scientific achievements and technologies in the field of agriculture and the opportunity created to explore new investment avenues that will accelerate research in the field of agriculture in the face of growing global agricultural problems are particularly noted.
The head of the ARC held a number of meetings at the “CGIAR Science Week” event, meeting with the heads and representatives of the International Food Policy Research Institute, the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas, the International Water Management Institute, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other prestigious international and local scientific research institutions. At these meetings, fruitful exchanges of views were held on issues such as the exchange of experience of academic staff, sharing of scientific achievements, implementation of joint scientific projects, etc., and opportunities for mutual cooperation were discussed.
The head of the institution participated in the panel discussions organized within the framework of the event and got acquainted with the work of the exhibitions.
