Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov visited farms in Agstafa, Tovuz and Shamkir regions and got acquainted with the activities of wine production enterprises.

During the visit, the Minister first inspected the asparagus cultivation area of ​​the “ABAK AGRO” company in Agstafa district and was interested in the work carried out on the cultivation of asparagus, which is an alternative and high-market value crop in our country. The head of the company provided information on the agrotechnical methods used in the field, planting materials used, productivity, disease control measures and market access opportunities. It was noted that asparagus is known as a high-income, especially export-oriented product with low water consumption. In this regard, it is planned to expand the asparagus cultivation area.

The meeting discussed the company's future plans, the implementation of measures to increase asparagus areas, expand support mechanisms for farmers and disseminate scientific planting technologies. At the same time, an exchange of views was held on the expansion of artichoke and peanut (araxis) cultivation in the region within the framework of cooperation with farmers.

Later, Minister Majnun Mammadov inspected the production areas of “Naigin Ko. Tovuz-Baltiya” LLC located in the Tovuz region and “Sharq Ulduzu” LLC operating in the Shamkir district. The participants of the visit were provided with detailed information about the activities of the enterprises, raw material supply, production capacity and product export, and it was noted that products complying with high quality standards are produced. During the meeting, the current situation in wine production, the development of this sector, innovations applied in the production process, and measures planned to increase export potential were discussed.
