Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the Ambassador of Latvia to Azerbaijan

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Azerbaijan Edgars Skuja.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Majnun Mammadov provided detailed information on state support for the agricultural sector in Azerbaijan. He mentioned that cooperation between the two countries is developing dynamically in all areas. Azerbaijan fully supports all initiatives aimed at strengthening economic and trade relations with Latvia. Recalling that our country has a reliable and favorable business environment, as well as great transit potential, Majnun Mammadov added that Latvian entrepreneurs can evaluate Azerbaijan's investment opportunities and make more extensive use of its transport and transit potential.

The meeting discussed issues such as strengthening cooperation and the legal and contractual framework in the agricultural sector, establishing a joint Working Group on agriculture, exchanging information on products with high export potential, increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products, expanding relations between businessmen, participation of Latvian entrepreneurs in the Azerbaijan International Agricultural Exhibition, transfer of modern technologies, and implementation of internship programs in scientific research and education in the agricultural sector.

Latvian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Edgars Skuja stressed that his country is a friendly country with Azerbaijan and is interested in developing partnership in all areas. He noted the great potential for expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector. The parties expressed their mutual interest in deepening agrarian cooperation.

During the meeting, a wide exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest.
