The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of the Federal Republic of Somalia got acquainted with the activities of the Agricultural Research Center

A meeting was held at the Agricultural Research Center with Mohamed Abdi Hayir, the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and his delegation.

Welcoming the guests, the Center's director, Rashad Huseynov, provided extensive information about the activities, ongoing projects, and research conducted by the institution.

The director also discussed the databases created at the Center, their significance in the digitalization of agriculture, and their overall contribution to the development of the agricultural sector. Additionally, information was given to the guests regarding the operational principles of these databases.

The portal http://aqrarbazar.az/, established since 2015, which collects data on the sale, wholesale, and retail prices of agricultural products directly from the field, particularly attracted the attention of the guests. Information about the purpose and operational principles of the portal was shared with the delegation.

Following this, Mohamed Abdi Hayir, the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources of the Federal Republic of Somalia, delivered a speech, expressing gratitude to the Center's leadership for detailed information.

Members of the delegation asked questions related to their areas of interest. They primarily inquired about data collection and the creation of alternative databases.

At the end of the meeting, the parties shared their views on prospects for mutual cooperation.
