More than 1,000 job vacancies were listed at the 17th Career Fair held at ADAU

The 17th Career Fair was held at the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University (ASAU). Representatives of state institutions, parliamentarians, private sector representatives and university administration participated in the event. The event began with the playing of the National Anthem and a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of our lands.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the rector of the university, Zafar Gurbanov, emphasized that such fairs play an important role in the integration of young people into the real labor market. The rector noted that the main goal of ASAU is not only to be an educational institution that provides theoretical knowledge, but also to form students as professional personnel who meet the requirements of the modern era. According to him, career fairs, in addition to increasing the opportunities for students to find jobs according to their qualifications, play the role of a bridge between the labor market and the university.

Speaking at the event, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov said that the development of the agricultural sector in our country has been declared one of the priority directions by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Agriculture is not only a guarantor of food security, but also an important platform for the socio-economic development of regions, increasing employment and applying innovative technologies.

Minister Majnun Mammadov added that ASAU makes an unparalleled contribution to the preparation of highly qualified specialists rich in scientific knowledge, with international experience. The reforms implemented by the university in recent years - strengthening the material and technical base, dual diploma programs, international cooperation, startup and innovation initiatives, and students' participation in foreign internship programs - give reason to have great hopes for the future of our education. Career fairs are of particular importance in terms of young people getting acquainted with the real sectors of the economy, direct communication with employers, and making the right decisions regarding their future career directions. In modern times, climate change, efficient resource management, agro-technological innovations and digitalization increase the need for new skills and approaches in the field of agriculture. In this regard, educational institutions should train practically oriented personnel who meet the requirements of the labor market.

Speaking at the event, the Head of the Ganja City Executive Power, Niyazi Bayramov, the Chairman of the Agricultural Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis, Tahir Rzayev, the Consul General of Turkiye in Ganja, Recep Oztop, the Chairman of the Ganja city organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, Bayram Aslanov, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency, Ramal Guluzade, and the Executive Director of Prime Cotton LLC, Rovshan Mahmudov, emphasized the importance of the exhibition in the professional development of young people, ensuring employment, and strengthening public-private sector cooperation. They expressed their confidence that ASAU graduates will play an important role in shaping the country's agrarian future.

During the exhibition, participants got acquainted with the stands of more than 150 companies and enterprises, had the opportunity to communicate directly with employers and receive information about existing vacancies and internship programs. More than 1,000 vacancies were presented to graduates within the framework of the 17th Career Fair.

As part of the event, the official opening of the Career and Cooperation Center, established at ASAU in cooperation with Prime Cotton LLC, also took place. The main goal of the center is to increase the knowledge and skills of students, introduce them to the real work environment, as well as meet the company's personnel needs in the short, medium and long term. A number of activities will be implemented through the center for students interested in cotton growing. Students will receive information about the "Young Agronomist" and "Young Mechanic" internship programs, and "Prime Groups" teams will be created with talented young people selected from among I-IV year students. They will be provided with opportunities to participate in trainings, seminars, branch visits and innovative projects, including the "Agro Hackathon".
