Online meeting on agriculture and agro-food was held between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Agriculture and the French-Azerbaijani Business Council of the French Organization of Entrepreneurs (MEDEF) and the embassy of Azerbaijan in France.
Minister of agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Inam Karimov, executive director of “MEDEF International” Philippe Gauthier, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to France Rahman Mustafayev, Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan Zakariyya Gross, director of the European and Asian branch of “MEDEF International” Bogdan Gaden-Firchak, diplomat for trade and economic Affairs of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in France Suliddin Mammadov, director of the Agricultural Economics Research Center Firdovsi Fikratzade, as well as 34 heads of companies from both countries were attended in the online meeting.
Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov informed the participants of meeting in detail about state support for the agricultural sector. The Minister noted that as a result of preventive measures implemented by the government in Azerbaijan, agriculture is the least vulnerable sector in the country’s economy.
Speaking about the diversification of the economy in our country, Azerbaijani Ambassador to France Rahman Mustafayev noted that agriculture and agro-industry are priority fields. The Ambassador spoke about the importance of developing the non-oil sector and the wide potential of relations between the two countries in the field of agriculture.
An exchange of views on the prospects of the agricultural and agro-food sector of Azerbaijan, the government’s priorities in the agricultural sector, as well as modernization, export development and financial support for agriculture in the context of the post-tandem period and economic diversification were held during the online meeting.
It should be noted that the online meeting was organized within the framework of the last visit to Baku of the employees of the largest association of France for the development of international exchange of food and equipment (ADEPTA) and the French-Azerbaijani Council of Entrepreneurs “MEDEF International” as a continuation of the relations established with the Ministry of Agriculture.
