On July 18, a delegation led by Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov visited farms in Lachin as part of a visit to Karabakh and met with farmers.
As part of the visit, the minister first inspected livestock farms that had migrated to the pastures of the Lachin region, arable land in the village of Minkand, and farm sites selected for the settled population in the villages of Sus, Beylik, and Zabukh. Then, the delegation visited the selection center for the development of livestock farming located in the “Zerti” Agro-Industrial Park, organic greenhouses, and got acquainted with the activities of the “Hekari Fish Farm”.
At the meeting with farmers and entrepreneurs, views were exchanged on the importance of timely and high-quality implementation of agrotechnical measures, the application of innovative technologies in the agricultural sector, the transition to modern agricultural technologies, the development of livestock farming, the importance of creating specialized meat and dairy cattle farms, feed supply in livestock farming, the development of fisheries and aquaculture, and it was noted that farmers widely benefit from the support mechanisms provided by the state for this process, and that state support mechanisms will give impetus to the development of agriculture, which is considered the main employment sector in the country. During the meeting, the importance of establishing and developing cooperation between agro-industrial complexes and scientific research institutes of the Ministry of Agriculture for the development of livestock farming was emphasized.
