The first Republican Web Forum of “Agrarian Development Volunteers” Organization was held

On August 5, the first Republican Web Forum of Agrarian Development Volunteers Organization was started. The main purpose of the forum, held in an online format, is to discuss the activities of volunteers in the direction of comprehensive and sustainable development of our country, active participation in events held against the widespread spread of coronavirus infection during the special quarantine regime, further increase the interest of young people in the agricultural sector, support the effective organization of their individual development and time.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov noted that the development of the agricultural sector in the country under the leadership of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has entered a new stage. The Minister noted that in accordance with the instructions of the Head of the state, constant measures are implemented to develop the agricultural sector.

Noting that state support for the development of the volunteer movement has further increased the interest of young people in this area, Minister Inam Karimov called the creation of volunteer organizations in the country in various areas, joint coordination of the activities of volunteer organizations a positive moment.

The Minister noted that the Agrarian Development Volunteers carry out educational work among schoolchildren in various regions, increase the interest of young people in agricultural education: “Over the past two years, the Agrarian Development Volunteers have implemented about 40 projects. These projects increase the interest of young people in various areas of agriculture and influence the formation of human resources that will ensure the dynamic development of the agricultural sector”.

At the end of his speech, Minister Inam Karimov wished successes to the forum.

Then the forum continued with panel discussions. Rector of the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, Ibrahim Jafarov made a report on “The importance of agricultural education”, Head of the FAO-Azerbaijan partnership program, Namig Mammadov – “food security”, Director of the Agro Researches Center, Firdovsi Fikretzade – “database in the agricultural sector”.

The first Republican Web Forum of “Agrarian Development Volunteers” Organization lasted three days.
