Corn fields were sprayed with drones for the first time in Azerbaijan

The process of spraying corn areas with modern drones was carried out again in Hajilar village of Aghjabadi district. On August 25, Minister of Agriculture, Inam Karimov also watched the spraying process in the field of farmer, Umidvar Mammadov.

Before the event, the Minister exchanged views with farmers on the organization of re-sowing of corn, increasing yields, and evaluated their proposals.

Then specially trained pilots of the Agricultural Center for Science and Innovation started the process of clearing the area with drones. The site was sprayed with solutions from a mixture of drugs used in pest control.

Imran Jumshudov, director of the Center for Agricultural Science and Innovation, told reporters that Azerbaijan is expanding the use of innovations in the agricultural sector: “We are currently conducting aerial refueling in corn fields using unmanned aerial vehicles for the first time in Azerbaijan. The high height of the corn plant in the current growing season does not allow the medicinal process to be sprayed with any equipment and unit. In world practice, in such cases, medical treatment is carried out using aerial drones. Currently, we are also implementing this process in Azerbaijan in the fields of re-growing corn. In the future, the use of modern innovations and technologies in farms will be further expanded”.

During his trip to Aghjabadi district, Minister Inam Karimov visited the Karabakh Equestrian Complex, in the Grain Seed Processing Plant, got acquainted with the cotton sector in the village of Hajibadalli, farmers Isa Murshudov, Gatam Naghiyev and Ganbar Aliyev, Raguf Gasimov in the village of Parioghlular, and asked about the state of cotton.

Farmers noted that due to the expansion of state support, interest in how cotton growing is being grown. They noted that the new subsidy mechanism encourages productivity. For this reason, this year, as in other regions of the country, a rich harvest is expected in Aghjabadi district.

The Minister listened to the farmers’ proposals for the development of cotton production and gave them his recommendations.
