Cooperation issues were discussed between Agricultural Research Center and Bulgarian Institute of Agrarian Economics

A meeting was held between the Agricultural Research Center (ARC) under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Institute of Agrarian Economics (IAE) of the Bulgarian Academy of Agriculture.

The online meeting, where issues of future cooperation were discussed, was attended by the Deputy Director of the Center Namig Shalbuzov, Advisor to the Director Parviz Aliyev, Director of the Institute of Agrarian Economics, Prof. Dr. Bozhidar Ivanov, and Institute employee, Prof. Dr. Hrabrin Bachev.

Namig Shalbuzov provided extensive information about the Agricultural Research Center and spoke about the role of the Center in implementing state policy in the agrarian sector, conducting scientific research in this field, and training researchers. He noted that in addition to preparing daily, weekly and monthly extensive analytical analyses and reports, the ARC also actively participates in the preparation of national strategies and programs for the development of agriculture. In addition, the Center has a doctoral program for training qualified personnel in the field of agrarian economics.

The Deputy Director noted that cooperation and exchange of experience will expand the capabilities of both institutions.

Professor Bozhidar Ivanov also provided information about the scientific institution he leads and said that the Institute of Agrarian Economics is a structural unit of the Bulgarian Academy of Agriculture. The Institute, which is engaged in economic research, analysis and publishing in the field of agriculture, is engaged in research in the fields of rural development, social and environmental aspects of the agricultural sector, food chains, etc., and supports the state's agrarian policy with educational and methodological materials and information provision activities. Emphasizing that they are developing relations with various academic institutions around the world, mainly with European Union organizations, the director said that they welcome and appreciate the establishment of scientific cooperation with the Agricultural Research Center. Later, the meeting discussed the prospects for future cooperation, shared ideas on the implementation of joint scientific research, exchange of education and experience of academic staff, sharing scientific achievements, implementation of joint scientific projects and other issues.
