Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the German Ambassador to Azerbaijan

Prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector were discussed at the meeting

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Azerbaijan Ralf Horlemann.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov provided detailed information to the meeting participants about the role of agriculture in the development of the non-oil sector in our country, the reforms implemented in the agricultural sector, the achievements made, the state support provided to farmers, the favorable investment climate existing in our country, the favorable conditions created for business, as well as the strategic goals set for the development of the agricultural sector. It was noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, declared the development of the agricultural sector a priority direction. The implemented agrarian reforms envisage the further development of agriculture, and for this purpose, the state is implementing very large support measures.

The parties discussed the issues of strengthening cooperation and legal-contractual basis between Azerbaijan and Germany in the agricultural sector, signing a Memorandum of Understanding and preparing an action plan, increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products, expanding relations between businessmen, further increasing productivity in the agricultural sector, efficient use of land and water resources, digitalization of agriculture, transfer of the most modern technologies in this field, expert support in improving the breed composition of livestock, implementation of experimental programs in the fields of scientific research and education in the agricultural sector. The meeting emphasized that there is great potential for expanding mutual relations between the two countries in the agricultural sector.

A wide exchange of views was held during the meeting on issues of mutual interest.
