On November 5, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Founder and Head of the IDEA Public Association, and Arzu Aliyeva, Head of the Baku Media Center, visited the 25th Anniversary Traditional National Exhibition and Sales Fair of Beekeeping Products.
During the visit, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva toured the exhibition stands, showed interest in various types of honey and beekeeping products presented by beekeepers, and received information about the production process and quality indicators. They held sincere discussions with beekeepers about seasonal productivity and sales opportunities and took commemorative photos.
This year, more than 280 farmers from 43 regions participated in the fair. Participants of the “Young Beekeeper” project, implemented by the IDEA Public Association to promote ecological entrepreneurship among young people, actively took part in the fair. In total, 1,128 kilograms of honey were presented at the fair by four “Young Beekeeper” families.
The “Güllü Yaylaq” Beekeeping Cooperative operating in the Khojaly district was represented at the fair for the first time. The founder of the cooperative, Ganira Asadova from Ballica village of the Khojaly district, has been engaged in beekeeping for many years. The purpose of the cooperative is to increase women’s employment in agriculture, preserve local beekeeping traditions, and promote the production of environmentally friendly products. Currently, the “Güllü Yaylaq” cooperative consists of five members and presented 400 kilograms of products at the fair, including six types of beekeeping products.
In addition, participants of the “Kalbajar Honey Festival 2025,” held in the Kalbajar district in September this year at the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, presented their products at the fair.
It should be especially noted that the attention and support shown by President Ilham Aliyev to Kalbajar honey in his speeches is the highest appreciation of the quality and recognition of honey from this region. Today, Kalbajar honey stands out for its natural characteristics and quality and is becoming one of Azerbaijan’s national brands.
It is worth noting that more than 100 tons of honey and over 15 types of beekeeping products were offered for sale at the fair (AZERTAC).
