Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with the Kyrgyz delegation

The Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting with the delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobayev, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.

Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov noted that cooperation between the two countries is developing dynamically in all areas. Recalling the discussions held within the framework of the meeting of ministers of agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States in Issyk-Kul region in June, the Minister emphasized that there is a great potential for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan in the fields of animal husbandry, scientific research, education, establishment of joint processing enterprises, digitalization of agriculture and agribusiness. Majnun Mammadov noted that holding joint business forums with the participation of entrepreneurs of the two countries and conducting continuous exchange of information on export potential can have a positive impact on the expansion of trade turnover of agricultural products. The Minister recalled that the Republic of Azerbaijan has extensive experience in the field of digitalization of agriculture and agrarian insurance, and expressed his readiness to share his experience in these areas with the Kyrgyz side.

Expressing gratitude for the warm welcome, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobayev said that his country intends to further develop cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan in all areas, including agriculture. Noting that the potential for cooperation between our countries in the agricultural sector is great, Mr. Torobayev noted that the development of bilateral relations will allow us to use this potential more effectively. Expressing their close interest in Azerbaijan's experience in horticulture, digitalization of agriculture, organization of agricultural services, agricultural insurance mechanism, construction and operation of greenhouses and cold storages, Bakyt Torobayev said that establishing close cooperation in these areas meets the interests of both parties. The parties agreed to organize a visit of a high-level delegation from Kyrgyzstan to our country in the near future in order to study Azerbaijan's experience in the mentioned areas.

In addition, the meeting widely discussed the possibilities of increasing trade turnover in agricultural products, livestock breeding, seed production, and multilateral cooperation within international organizations.
