The next meeting of the "Agrarian Advisory Council" Public Union was held

The next meeting of the “Agrarian Advisory Council” Public Union was held. The meeting, held with the aim of improving labor relations in the agrarian sector of Azerbaijan, included extensive discussions on the topic “Regulation of labor relations in the agrarian sector: current situation and next steps”.

The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, members of the Agrarian Advisory Council, as well as representatives of companies operating in the agrarian sector.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov emphasized the strategic importance of labor relations in the agrarian sector and said that ensuring sustainable employment, protecting the rights of employees, promoting formal employment and developing human resources play an important role in the sustainable development of the sector. The Minister noted that, along with programs and support mechanisms implemented by the state, regulating labor relations in accordance with the legislation serves to increase productivity and competitiveness.

In his speech, the Chairman of the Agrarian Advisory Council, Niyazi Amirbekov, noted the importance of strengthening public-private partnerships in terms of the development of labor relations in the agrarian sector, establishing transparent and healthy labor relations between employers and employees, as well as using international experience.

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Anar Aliyev, provided information on the work done to legalize labor relations in the agrarian sector, expand the official registration of hired workers, promote the application of labor contracts, strengthen social insurance mechanisms, and regulate seasonal employment.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Agrarco” LLC, Shahmurad Yahyayev, made a presentation on the company's activities. The presentation provided information on the company's main areas of activity, projects implemented in the agrarian sector, development targets set within the framework of cooperation with state agencies, and future plans.

Head of the State Labor Inspectorate Service, Veli Guliyev, made a presentation on the regulation of labor relations in the agrarian sector. He spoke in detail about the results of wage reforms, the electronicization of labor relations, the main achievements in this area, new functionalities on the EMAS, innovations in labor legislation, measures taken in the field of labor protection, as well as the implementation of the “DOST Inspector” project.

During the discussions, views were exchanged on the next steps towards increasing the transparency of labor relations in the agricultural sector, reducing informal employment, strengthening the social protection of employees, and more effective regulation of labor relations.
