The Ministry of Agriculture held a meeting with the delegation led by Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates, who is visiting Azerbaijan.
Welcoming the guests, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov said that there is great potential for developing cooperation between the two countries. The Minister noted that the discussions held allow exploring the prospects of cooperation in the agricultural sector between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates and creating new partnerships. It was noted that it is important to regularly exchange information on export-oriented products and explore the opportunities for mutual participation in international exhibitions held in both countries. Majnun Mammadov stressed the importance of forming a legal framework for expanding cooperation in specific areas between the two countries.
Thanking for the warm welcome, Minister of Climate Change and Environment of the United Arab Emirates Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi said that her country is interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan in the agricultural sector. The minister, who drew attention to the importance of establishing international cooperation in order to create a more reliable food supply chain on a global scale, positively assessed the meetings held in Baku in this regard.
The meeting included a wide exchange of views on increasing trade turnover in agricultural products between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates, investment opportunities in livestock breeding and other sectors of agriculture, the application of new technologies in the agricultural sector, and other topics.
At the end of the meeting, a preliminary agreement was reached on the establishment of a joint working group between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates to expand cooperation in the agricultural sector and the preparation and signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in the agricultural sector.
