Meeting of Azerbaijani and Uzbek agriculture ministers held in Tashkent

Memorandum of Understanding in the agricultural sector was signed between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan

Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, who is on a visit to Uzbekistan, met with his country's Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov. The meeting, which was attended by delegations from both countries, discussed the current state of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the agricultural sector.

Welcoming the guests, Uzbekistan's Minister of Agriculture Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov said that they are friendly countries with Azerbaijan and are interested in developing partnership relations in all areas. Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov noted that Uzbekistan has established its own insurance model based on the Azerbaijani insurance model and is ready to share our country's achievements and experience in the agricultural sector with the brotherly country.

The meeting discussed issues such as strengthening cooperation in the agricultural sector, increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products, implementing joint investment projects in a short time, expanding relations between businessmen, strengthening the activities of Azerbaijani businessmen in Uzbekistan, encouraging the participation of businessmen in international exhibitions and fairs organized in both countries, transferring modern technologies, and cooperation in the field of agricultural research and agricultural education.

The parties expressed their interest in further developing bilateral cooperation relations in the agricultural sector between the two countries and increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products. A wide exchange of views was held at the meeting on issues of mutual interest.

Within the framework of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Agricultural Research Center (ARC) under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The document was signed by ARC Director Rashad Huseynov and AKIS First Deputy Director Oybek Amanov. The Memorandum of Understanding reflects the directions of future cooperation in the agricultural sector. According to the document, the parties agreed to expand cooperation in the field of agricultural research.
