Relations between Azerbaijan and Italy in the agricultural sector were discussed

Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the Italian Minister of Agriculture and the President of the Italian Trade Agency

The Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, Majnun Mammadov, who is on a visit to Uzbekistan, met with the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry of the Italian Republic, Mr. Francesco Lollobrigida, and the President of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), Matteo Zoppas.

The meetings discussed the development of cooperation in the agricultural sector, increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products, expanding relations between businessmen, encouraging the participation of businessmen in international exhibitions and fairs organized in both countries, transferring modern technologies, cooperation in the field of agricultural research and agricultural education, as well as strengthening relations and expanding the exchange of experience in the fields of winemaking, animal husbandry and dairy farming.

The parties expressed their interest in further developing bilateral cooperation relations in the agricultural sector between the two countries, increasing trade turnover in agricultural and food products. A wide exchange of views was held at the meeting on issues of mutual interest.

Within the framework of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the “Agricultural Procurement and Supply” OJSC (ATT) under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the main Italian farmer organization “Coldiretti”, as well as the “Filiera Italia” Association, which includes the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors. The Memorandum of Understanding reflects the directions of future cooperation in the agricultural sector. According to the document, the parties agreed to expand cooperation in the field of building a productive, sustainable and export-oriented agricultural economy in the agricultural and agro-industrial sectors.
