Minister Majnun Mammadov visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic

Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov visited the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

Within the framework of the visit, Jeyhun Jalilov, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov visited the monument to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the central square of Nakhchivan city. Bouquets of flowers were laid in front of the monument, and the memory of the Great Leader was commemorated with respect.

Later, Minister Majnun Mammadov met with Jeyhun Jalilov, the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and Jabbar Musayev, the Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The meetings discussed state support measures for the agricultural sector, the implementation of the Electronic Agricultural Information System (EKTIS) and the implementation of state support measures through this system, the possibilities of eliminating difficulties in providing farms with water, and the expansion of modern irrigation systems. The main topics of discussion were the expansion of agricultural activities within the framework of the implementation of the “Action Plan for Ensuring the Efficient Use of Water Resources in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2026−2030”, approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, dated February 21, 2026.

As part of the visit, Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the staff of the Nakhchivan Ministry of Agriculture. The meeting discussed the measures implemented in the field of agriculture in Nakhchivan, the achievements achieved, and future prospects.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on the issues of accelerating the transition process to EKTIS so that Nakhchivan farmers can fully and transparently benefit from state support, state concessions for the sale of agricultural machinery and equipment, agrarian loans and microloans, the establishment and registration of cooperatives and family farms in the agricultural sector, the development of local seed production, the organization of animal health and veterinary services, the implementation of vaccination and plant protection measures, the implementation of training and internship programs to increase the knowledge and skills of employees, the establishment of a single Call Center, the determination of water demand by area of ​​cultivated plants, type of crop, plant species in regions and villages, and the compilation of water orders required by months.

Minister Majnun Mammadov gave instructions on the work to be done to develop leading sectors of agriculture.
