The meeting discussed cooperation issues between the two countries
A meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture with the delegation led by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia, the Latvian co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Latvia Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, Armands Krauze, who is visiting our country. The meeting discussed cooperation opportunities between the two countries in detail.
Welcoming the guests, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-Latvia Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, Majnun Mammadov, said that our country attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations with Latvia based on friendship, mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation. The Minister recalled that the liberated territories have been declared green energy zones, and large-scale restoration and reconstruction works are being carried out in these territories based on the concepts of "Smart City" and "Smart Village". He expressed the readiness of the Republic of Azerbaijan to cooperate with Latvia in the application of advanced technologies and exchange of experience in this process.
The Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia, the Latvian co-chair of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia, Armands Krauze, in turn, said that his country is interested in developing partnership relations with Azerbaijan in all areas. He emphasized that there is great potential for expanding mutual relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, issues related to cooperation opportunities between the two countries in the fields of trade, energy, transport, information and communication technologies, culture, education and tourism, the resumption of direct flights of the Latvian national airline to Azerbaijan, effective use of tourism potential, cooperation in the field of processing agricultural products, the activities of the joint intergovernmental commission on Azerbaijan-Latvia economic cooperation, the 9th meeting of the commission to be held in Shusha on April 15 of this year, the establishment of a joint working group on agriculture, mutual support and defense of the positions and initiatives of our countries on international platforms, strengthening mutual regional relations, organizing information exchange on products with high export potential, increasing trade turnover, expanding relations between businessmen, transferring modern technologies in the field of agriculture, conducting scientific and research work, and training specialists in the agricultural field were discussed.
The participants of the meeting also exchanged views on strengthening the legal and contractual framework between the two countries, signed and negotiated agreements, and future cooperation prospects, and expressed their interest in further developing cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia.
Finally, an extensive exchange of views was held on issues of mutual interest.
