Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan Majnun Mammadov made a speech at the Azerbaijan-Latvia business forum held in Baku.
The Minister recalled that the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia was held in Shusha on April 15, and stressed that priority areas for future cooperation in trade, agriculture, culture, tourism, education and other areas were identified at this meeting. Minister Majnun Mammadov noted that a favorable business environment and investment opportunities in both countries are of great importance in terms of expanding relations and establishing new business ties.
The Minister added that organizing regular business forums, strengthening the exchange of information on competitive export products and active participation in international exhibitions will play a key role in strengthening relations between entrepreneurs of both countries.
The Minister drew attention to the importance of exchanging experience in the fields of agricultural technologies, food security and product exports, and noted that partnership in this sector will be mutually beneficial for both countries.
Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia Armands Krauze, in turn, touched upon the importance of relations between the two countries. He emphasized that business forums are an important platform for establishing relations between business circles, that such events create conditions for creating new investment opportunities, contribute to the expansion of trade turnover and sustainable economic cooperation.
Within the framework of the Azerbaijan-Latvia business forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Export and Investment Promotion Agency - AZPROMO and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
The event included presentations on the investment opportunities of Azerbaijan and Latvia, and discussed the economic priorities of both countries and the opportunities created for foreign investors.
Bilateral meetings were organized between businessmen within the framework of the business forum, and opportunities for expanding business relations were discussed.
