Online meeting was held on the theme of efficient organization of Cocoon production

Online meeting was held on the theme of "Efficient organization of cocoon production” organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, on January 9. Minister of Agriculture, Inam Karimov, General Director of Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation OJSC, Kamran Nabizade and representatives of subordinate bodies of the Ministry attended in the meeting.

At the event it was noted that the development of the agricultural sector was declared as one of the priority directions by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was reported that as a result of implemented measures, the agricultural sector has entered a new stage of development and the pace of development continues in this area. Work in the field of sustainable development of agriculture is being continued in Azerbaijan.

The work carried out in the direction of the implementation tasks set and results obtained in the "State Program concerning the development of silkworm breeding and sericulture in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2018-2025" were discussed in the online meeting. It was noted that interest for the silkworm breeding field increased as a result of state support in the country. The production and processing of wet cocoon, production of high-quality silkworm seeds (grena), the issues of increasing cocoon production by the following feeding of mulberry silkworm in accordance with the agro-zootechnic rules were discussed at the event. The issues of effective fight against diseases in the area of silkworm breeding, state support for silkworm breeders, strengthening the process of education on cocoon production were also touched upon in the online meeting.

According to the actions plan on silkworm breeding, the sides exchanged views on the ongoing work, the preparation of barns for breeding silkworms in accordance with the instructions, looking after the mulberry (tree) garden and implemented work about giving education to farmers.

 The proposals on the development of silkworm breeding were recorded, relevant instructions were given for the operative solution of the issues raised in the meeting.
