Minister Majnun Mammadov met with the Deputy Director General of the Turkish State Water Affairs Directorate

Pilot projects on land consolidation were discussed at the meeting

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov met with a delegation led by Faruk Firatoglu, Deputy Director General of the State Water Affairs Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Turkey.

The meeting discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the agrarian sector and exchange of experience in the field of land consolidation.

Minister Majnun Mammadov emphasized the importance of the "State Program on the Development of Agricultural, Fisheries and Aquaculture Products Production and Processing in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2030", approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 25, 2026, in terms of the development of the agrarian sector. It was noted that the State Program identified ensuring the efficient use of land and water resources as the main priorities. In this direction, the program also provides for the establishment of a land consolidation mechanism and the implementation of pilot projects. The Minister noted that the study and application of Turkey's experience in this field in the implementation of pilot projects, as well as the expansion of cooperation between the two countries, are of particular importance.

The meeting reviewed the pilot projects planned to be implemented within the framework of the State Program, legal, institutional and technical issues related to the implementation of the land consolidation mechanism, coordination of activities between relevant state agencies, as well as prospects for future cooperation. The experts' visit to Gabala and Salyan regions, where pilot projects on land consolidation will be implemented in Azerbaijan, the results of the assessments conducted, and initial impressions were discussed. During the discussions, views were exchanged on the current state of the pilot areas, consolidation opportunities, and technical and institutional issues necessary for the successful implementation of the projects.

The parties emphasized that studying international experience in the field of land consolidation, continuing the exchange of knowledge and experience, and strengthening joint activities in the relevant direction will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector of both countries.
