Graduation Day at Azerbaijan State Agricultural University

A graduation day and 11th graduation fair were held on 1 June at the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University. Minister Inam Karimov and deputies Minister Ilham Guliyev and Seyfaddin Talibov, heads of relevant divisions of  Ministry and representatives of leading agricultural companies operating in the country attended in a meeting held at the engineering faculty of ASAU.

Ibrahim Jafarov, rector of Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, professor, corresponding member of ANAS opened the event. The rector informed the Ministry of Agriculture about the modernization of the material and technical base of the educational institution, the support provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, relations with state-owned enterprises, leading companies and the employment rate of graduates. I.Jafarov noted that development for professional trainings of specialists kept attention, and they were sent to foreign universities as part of exchange programs and participate in training programs that meet modern standards. Speaking at the event, Minister of Agriculture Inam Karimov noted that as a result of the policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, the agricultural sector, as well as other sectors of the economy, had entered a new phase of its development. The minister noted that implementation of agro reforms carried out by the head of state provide for the further development of agriculture, and on purpose, the government implements events supports very large measures: “Today, the agricultural sector is being developed its most successful stage. The development of the agricultural sector is a priority policy pursued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Today, the agricultural sector is one of the most influential professions in Azerbaijan. It is not by chance that as a result of implementation affairs, Azerbaijan State Agricultural University is one of the most developed and successful among universities in the world. The university has a powerful material and technical base, the most modern dormitories, educational buildings. Currently, the construction of a new building of the Azerbaijan State Agricultural University continues. I think that every student of Azerbaijan State Agricultural University will become a successful personnel of the future”. Niyazi Bayramov, the head of the Executive Power of Ganja City spoke about the rapid development of the agricultural sector, state care for this region and noted that the agricultural policy is highly appreciated each year, pursued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. Wishing to become graduates, the head of the Executive Power emphasized that the development of the agricultural sector is connected with the higher education of the staff trained by ASAU. Emil Huseynov, director of human resources at Gilan Agricultural Group, Yashar Savadov, manager of human resources at “Azersun Holding” agricultural group and processing enterprise informed about employment opportunities offered at the fair and called students to take advantage of the opportunities offered to build their careers. Nurlan Gadirov, graduated from agronomical faculty of ASAU, Zohra Babayeva, graduated fromthe veterinary faculty, Farid Almamedov, graduated from master told about the conditions created in the educational institution, and expressed gratitude for the quality education and teaching. Certificates and gifts were awarded to students who successfully completed the training. After the official part, Inam Karimov took a photo with graduates. During the event, the Minister also met with representatives of companies invited to the graduation fair. During the meeting, the needs for ASAU graduates in the agricultural sector and exchanged views on the vacancies offered to graduates were discussed. The Minister also got acquainted with the fair. It was noted that 151 enterprises from 44 regions of Azerbaijan took part in the graduation fair, and 1,124 vacancies were offered to graduates. It was noted that this year 1170 students would be graduated from Azerbaijan State Agricultural University. 772 of them - visually, and 226 received correspondence courses. In addition, 172 students received a master’s degree in the 2018/2019 academic year. I.Karimov visited the ASAU Innovation Center, and members of the Center made presentations on their innovative initiatives. Later, the Minister also met with volunteers of agricultural development in the hostel of

ASAU No. 2. Speaking about the importance of volunteering, the Minister stressed the importance of this activity for improving knowledge and skills, the need to further expand volunteering and said that initiatives of agricultural development volunteers will always be supported. Speaking at the event, representatives of the Agricultural Development Volunteers thanked for their support and informed them about their projects. Volunteers made proposals on participation in agricultural education, volunteer activities, exchange programs. Proposals were registered and relevant instructions were given on the project discussions. In the end, Minister Inam Karimov took a memorable photo with ASAU volunteers for agricultural development.
